Position Overview 

Perez Morris is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trial Attorney to join our Toledo office. The ideal candidate will have first-chair trial experience, a deep understanding of medical-legal issues, and a proven track record of handling high-stakes cases from inception through verdict.

 

Key Responsibilities

Experienced trial lawyer with regular appearances in court conferences, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.

Skilled in all aspects of litigation strategy from drafting pleadings, responding to written discovery motions and discovery demands, preparing motions, to negotiating settlements and preparing witnesses for trial.

Serve as the primary contact for corporate clients and insurers, providing regular updates, case assessments, and litigation plans.

Independently manage an assigned caseload and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of legal practice.

Prepare witnesses for trial and coordinate trial preparation efforts.

Provide strategic counsel and legal advice to clients throughout the litigation process.

Qualifications

Three to five years of experience in litigation. Interest in Medical Malpractice desirable.

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active license in good standing with the Ohio State Bar.

First-chair trial experience preferred.

Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure cases and manage complex litigation matters.

Commitment to client service and ethical legal practice.

Exceptional attention to detail, strong writing and legal research skills, and a strong work ethic.

Values collaboration and diverse perspectives and can work with a team to creatively solve problems.

Willingness to be a productive member of a team.
