Our Taranaki laboratory provides community pathology services, serving a population of approximately 125,000.
About the role | Mō te tūranga:
Our Specimen Services team is seeking three dedicated, enthusiastic, and capable Medical Laboratory Technicians to join us. This permanent, full-time role of 80 hours per fortnight offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality laboratory services while working alongside a supportive team. The position is based at New Plymouth lab.
Key Responsibilities:
Barcoding, receipting and preparing specimens coming into the laboratory; performing data entry of patient and test details; answering telephones.
You will work collaboratively as part of the team, work well under pressure, and have an eye for detail and problem-solving ability.

To be successful in this role you need to have:
The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines
A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Excellent attention to detail, with good record-keeping skills
The ability to work independently, while in a supported role
Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential.
Willingness to participate in an evening/after-hours roster and be on call as required
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
If you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also consider candidates who are in the process of becoming qualified.
