About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We’re seeking motivated and eager individuals to join our Core Laboratory as a Medical Laboratory Technician. We have multiple permanent, part-time positions available. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, develop your skills, and contribute to vital laboratory operations.
In this role, you will support the daily operations of the laboratory by performing a range of essential tasks, including demonstrating strong attention to detail and organisational skills, and maintaining a commitment to high-quality service and laboratory standards
Key Responsibilities:
Barcoding, receipting, and preparing specimens as they arrive at the laboratory.
Entering patient and test details accurately into the system.
Answering telephones and handling enquiries professionally.
Work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of accuracy.
Be willing to learn new skills and adapt to changing procedures.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Maintain a friendly, customer-focused approach at all times.
Show initiative and be self-sufficient in your day-to-day tasks.
About you | He kōrero mōu
To be successful in this role you need to have:
Registration with Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
A current Annual or Interim Practicing Certificate.
A sound knowledge of laboratory operations including, safety, quality assurance processes, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience.
A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
Eligible to work in New Zealand.
If you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also consider candidates who are in the process of becoming qualified.
