About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Biochemistry & Immunology Department at our Christchurch laboratory. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Working closely with a skilled and supportive team, you will perform a variety of medical laboratory duties that directly contribute to delivering high-quality patient care. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy teamwork, take pride in their work, and are motivated to grow within a dynamic laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse blood and clinical samples using biochemistry and immunology protocols.
Perform routine and specialized immunology tests.
Report results accurately and promptly, meeting quality standards.
Support quality control, process improvements, and team efficiency.

To be successful in this role you need to have:
The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team are key attributes.
A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Sound knowledge of laboratory operations including, safety, quality assurance processes, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience.
Full registration or eligibility to register with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
A current Annual or Interim Practicing Certificate.
Available to work rostered and rotating weekends and evenings.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
If you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also consider candidates who are in the process of becoming qualified.
