Job Description
Most delivery jobs move packages. This one delivers mobility. Our client is a well-established prosthetic and orthotic practice with deep roots across Long Island and the greater New York metro — serving patients in their homes, in hospitals, in skilled nursing facilities, and in clinics. The devices being delivered aren't commodities; they're custom-fabricated in-house, and for many patients, receiving one is a turning point. If you take your work seriously, treat people in difficult moments with genuine care, and want a driving role that actually means something, this is that job. Full training is provided — you bring the reliability and the heart.
What You'll be Responsible for
• Transporting and delivering custom prosthetic and orthotic devices to patient homes, hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities across multiple locations
• Handling every device with care — these are precision-crafted items built specifically for individual patients, not off-the-shelf products
• Providing patients and caregivers with clear, basic guidance on device handling and care, as directed by the clinical team
• Coordinating closely with practitioners and office staff on scheduling, delivery windows, and any on-site updates or changes
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and properly secured vehicle at all times
• Completing accurate delivery logs and visit documentation
• Supporting the broader team with pickups, returns, restocking, and inter-office logistics across multiple sites
• Occasionally supporting urgent or priority deliveries for hospital and facility partners — the organization runs a responsive, patient-first operation
Requirements:
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Comfort driving daily across Long Island and into the greater metro area, navigating multiple stops
• A composed, professional presence — many patients you'll encounter are managing serious health challenges, and how you show up matters
• Genuine reliability — this team runs on trust, and patients count on consistent, on-time delivery
• The physical ability to safely handle and transport equipment in the 25–50 lb range
• Strong communication habits with both patients and internal teams
• Prior experience in delivery driving, medical transport, home health, or any patient-facing healthcare role is a meaningful advantage — candidates with a background in P&O, DME, or clinical support will stand out
Benefits:
• Compensation: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience
• Paid time off and holidays
• Structured onboarding with hands-on training in prosthetic and orthotic device handling — no prior P&O experience required
• A stable, mission-driven work environment with decades of community presence behind it
• The chance to be part of a care team that patients remember — this is not an anonymous logistics role
