Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and professional Medical Call Center Representative to join our healthcare team in Hagerstown, Maryland. This role is essential to supporting patient care by managing inbound phone calls, scheduling appointments, and coordinating communication between patients and clinical staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent phone etiquette, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
• Call Handling: Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, route calls to the appropriate department or staff member, and take accurate messages when needed.
• Appointment Scheduling: Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Patient Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally with patients regarding appointments, basic inquiries, and next steps in care.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support patient flow and continuity of care.
• Professional Conduct: Maintain a courteous, respectful, and patient-focused demeanor at all times.
• Administrative Support: Perform basic clerical and computer-based tasks, including data entry and documentation.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience.
• Strong verbal communication and phone etiquette
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment
• Dependable, self-motivated, and professional demeanor
• Basic computer proficiency and typing skills
• Commute: Must be able to reliably commute to Hagerstown, MD 21740.
• Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with insurance plans and healthcare environments.
• Prior experience in a medical office or call center setting.
