We are a high-volume, multi-specialty medical practice seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely billing and revenue cycle management, particularly within the personal injury (PI) space.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
This position requires you to work on-site at our Winter Park, FL, location.
Position Overview
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end processing of medical claims, with a strong emphasis on personal injury cases, including coordination with law firms, insurance carriers, and patients. This individual will play a key role in maintaining compliance, optimizing reimbursement, and supporting overall practice operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner
Manage billing workflows for personal injury cases, including lien-based billing and attorney coordination
Communicate effectively with law firms, insurance carriers, and patients regarding claim status, balances, and required documentation
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims; identify and resolve billing discrepancies
Utilize multiple platforms, including eClinicalWorks, Jopari, Monday.com, Tresorit, and other systems as needed
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
Perform general clerical duties such as faxing, scanning, copying, and document management
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient revenue cycle operations
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 1–2 years of medical billing experience
Strong understanding of billing processes, claim lifecycle, and insurance workflows
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with computers, email communication, and multiple software platforms
Preferred:
Certification in Medical Billing and/or Coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent)
Experience with personal injury (PI) billing, including liens and attorney coordination
Familiarity with high-volume, multi-specialty practice environments
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or crouching
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
