Come and join our dynamic team at Peak! We are seeking a full-time Billing Assistant to join our interdisciplinary clinic in Norman, OK. Come join our team as we provide a comprehensive and collaborative approach in helping children with autism and other disabilities. Our clinic includes Psychology, ABA, OT, and Speech services. At Peak, we strive to help children and families reach their highest potential.
The Position:
Coordinate pre-authorization and ongoing authorization of benefits for BH, SLP and OT departments
Perform basic clerical duties and data entry
Process SLP and OT intakes
Fulfill record requests
Gather all documentation needed for authorization of services
Communicate as needed with insurance sources to ensure proper documentation is maintained
Coordinate with Billing Manager and providers about referrals and authorization status
Assist the Billing Manager in:
Manual billing and collection processes
Credentialing providers
Submitting electronic claims
Managing denial of claims
Billing secondaries
Accounts receivables
Monthly client payments
Payment posting
Maintain all clinical records in accordance with HIPAA
Maintain high quality of customer service in writing, by phone and in person
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment
Proficient in using electronic devices (computer, tablets) for extended amounts of time
Cross-training on the following tasks and skills:
Obtain pertinent clinical information, demographic information, and verify insurance benefits
Serve as the first line of contact for new referrals
Conduct eligibility and benefit checks.
Answer telephone and direct calls to the appropriate staff
Assist client with any questions regarding initial appointments or referrals
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management preferred
2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment (Pediatric therapy preferred)
Experience with private health insurance, including intake, benefits, and authorization
Experience working in multi-site clinics is a plus
Must have experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (Central Reach experience is preferred)
Advanced proficiency in the full Google Workspace suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet)
