AAI is actively recruiting a Medical Appointment Clerk at the 27th Special Operations Medical Group which is located on Cannon AFB, New Mexico. The 27th Special Operations Medical Group ensures optimal care for active duty and beneficiary populations, with clinic services Monday through Friday. They currently serve the delivery of health services to active duty and military beneficiaries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and have strong working knowledge of computers, specifically the Internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Windows.
Possess leadership skills and the ability to appropriately manage appointment linestaff. Experience in a management role preferred.
Keeps other appointment clerks up-to-date on all appointing protocols and guidelines
Maintain staffing to ensure appropriate line coverage; coordinate with MTF contract manager.
Responsible for keeping Appointing Office Key Performance Indicators within the standards outlined in AFI 44-176 Access to the Care Continuum.
Interfaces with clinical staff to ensure the appropriateness of appointment bookings.
Acts as lead appointment clerk in the MTF, providing oversight of patient appointments made by all appointing clerks within the MTF
Assists Group Practice Manager with review and revisions of appointment line protocols.
Assist in creating follow-up appointments and taskers for patient follow-up visits and telephone consults.
Enter accurate and concise information into telephone consults and appointments.
Leads the appointment line staff in accordance with Access to MTF instruction.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education. Associate of Science in Nursing Program from an approved National League of Nursing. Associate of Science if for an RN license; LPNs obtain a certificate and then take their LPN board exam.
License/certification. Current, active full, and unrestricted License to practice Nursing in accordance with State Board requirements. Nurse applicants must be current U.S. licensed Practical Nurses.
The license cannot be under investigation nor have any adverse action pending from a Nursing Sate Board or national licensing/certification agency.
Experience: One year of clinical nursing experience within the last 3 years. Previous experience in Utilization Management is not required. Employment in the nursing field within the last 12 months is mandatory.
Must be a US Citizen.
