Ambipar Response Canada is a leading emergency response company committed to safeguarding communities and the environment by ensuring rapid, effective responses to various emergencies. We provide expert fire, medical and rescue services, spill response, hazardous materials management, and emergency incident coordination. Our team is dedicated to excellence, safety, and innovation in emergency response.
We are seeking a flexible and dedicated individual for an on-call casual position over a three-month term. This role offers a unique schedule, where your hours may vary significantly from week to week. There may be weeks where you are not scheduled for any shifts. We are looking for local medics to the Lower Mainland Area.
Medic Primary Responsibilities
Operational:
· Participate in ongoing training, safety meetings, and team development.
· Conduct thorough assessments of patients' condition.
· Administering first aid and life-saving interventions.
· Maintain and inspect all equipment daily.
· Design emergency response plans and site assessments.
· Discuss operational needs with onsite representative, if required.
· Mentor and support team members.
Safety:
· Review and demonstrate compliance regarding the company and clients HSEQ policies and procedures as directed by the HSEQ Department.
· Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions.
· Correct hazards and improper activities as soon as they are observed. Immediately report to site lead all accidents, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
Reporting:
· Complete daily scope of work, FLHA, and permits.
· Complete documentation of patient assessment.
· Provide reports as required from the Client.
Qualifications:
· Physically fit and capable of performing an emergency response technique.
· H2S Alive
· Advanced First Aid (OFA3)
· Valid Class 1,3 or 5 non GDL Drivers License
· Successful completion of drug and alcohol tests as required by both legislation and clients.
· Successful completion of annual physical fitness test.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
· Positive and professional attitude.
· 1 + years experience
Preference will be given to candidates possessing knowledge and/or experience relating to:
· NFPA 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter
Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Requirements
· Drive company vehicles and equipment in an exemplary manner according to company policies and local laws.
· Wear required PPE as per legislations, hazard IDs and customer requirements.
· Heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be required; use of proper lifting techniques is essential.
· Need to remain calm and in control during emergency response.
· Avoid exposure to various chemicals and materials that may cause adverse health effects.
· Be alert to and know how to react in situations where interactions may turn negative to avoid workplace harassment and violence.

· Day and night shifts
