Media Production Systems Engineer

Vox Media is looking for a Media Production Systems Engineer to support the Vox Media Podcast Network. This is an in office position based in New York City with occasional travel.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Be the first responder for any technical issues with Production Systems across our NY, DC, and LA offices.

• Update system drawings and documents for all studio infrastructure.

• Develop handbooks for studio systems for use by operators.

• Train new operators on studio systems.

• Manage detailed documentation on installed equipment and production system infrastructure.

• Work with Vendors on new integration projects, or training and maintenance plans.

• Proactively manage studio technology such as video, lighting and audio infrastructure, and managing troubleshooting, enhancements, and maintenance.

• Support podcast events work through consultation, and on site live event AV capture. (events to be staged mainly in NYC with occasional travel).

• Collaborate and work closely with our partners across the Service Desk and IT Infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• At least 2 years experience working as a broadcast technician in a video or audio facility.

• Command of studio and post-production technology including audio systems, video systems, and lighting systems.

• Familiarity with audio networking, video routing, live stream encoding, Sony PTZ cameras, ETC Ion lighting systems, Bitfocus, video playout systems, Avid Pro Tools, and Adobe Premiere.

• Expert skill in some areas of audio & video production, and a desire to expand your skills in other areas.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and remain composed and productive under pressure

• Ability to read and edit system drawings

• Incredible attention to detail

• Familiarity with control rooms, and digital audio consoles, video routers, and switchers

• Basic knowledge of networking

• An enthusiasm for production systems, and a drive to expand your skills

• Ability to design, commission, and maintain studio production systems

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
