The BVI Financial Services Commission (“the Commission”) is seeking to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as a Media Monitoring Assistant within the Policy Development and External Relations Division (PDERD).
The successful candidate will support the monitoring, review, and analysis of domestic and international media reports relating to BVI entities and financial services matters. This role will assist in identifying and following up on developments associated with financial services, criminal conduct, regulatory issues, and international cooperation that may impact the reputation and operations of the Territory.

Strong organisational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality of work are essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General
Monitor media reports originating from key and secondary BVI markets relating to BVI business companies and their performance and/or conduct;
Scan domestic, regional, and international media reports and other journalistic productions for instances of mention of BVI business entities incorporated, registered, recognised, formed or otherwise approved under financial services legislation and collate and analyse such reports and productions;
Identify and take stock of published reports and strides undertaken by other financial services regulators regarding legislative reform, mutual evaluations and assessments, investigations undertaken by domestic and foreign law enforcement agencies in relation to financial offences and other breaches;
Assist to upkeep the database of ongoing collation of findings, and immediately alert supervisors to any issue that can be viewed as a red flag and/or necessitating the immediate attention of management;
Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual collated reports, supported by detailed analysis of findings, and highlights of any peculiarities regarding which the Commission should be made aware; and
Undertake other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Director or Deputy Director External Relations of the Policy Development and External Relations Division (PDERD).
Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience Required:
Associate’s degree in business administration, data analytics or similar field with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience OR
Bachelor’s degree in financial services, business administration, economics, data analytics or similar field with at least 1 year post-qualification experience in a similar post within the financial services, intelligence gathering or other relevant industry
Proficiency in research.
Strong knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Office suite of applications, social media, internet, and general navigation of websites.
Strong oral and written business communication skills.
Excellent time management, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
