We’re looking for a hands-on Media Manager to support this vital mission by partnering with the VP Communications Australia to lead impactful media and communication campaigns across Australia and New Zealand.
This role will amplify Thales’ voice, driving brand awareness and reputation while shaping how our cutting-edge technologies and services are understood by key audiences.
Located at our Rydalmere office, on Darug land, your role will be –
• Lead proactive/reactive media engagement
• Develop and execute integrated communication and media plans
• Craft thought leadership content, speeches, and opinion pieces
• Train subject matter experts for media engagement
• Collaborate with Group media teams for alignment and support
• Manage communications for key events and announcements
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
• Strong writing and storytelling skills.
• Must have experience managing media relationships and comfortable with national media.
• Must have sharp attention to detail and delivers high-quality results, even in high-pressure situations.
• Deep knowledge of news cycles.
• Background in media or communications a plus.
• Strategic, proactive, and creative problem solver.
• Ability to work collaboratively in local and global teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or related field preferred.

A Baseline Defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
