Job Description

Job Title: Med Tech / Caregiver

Department: Residential Services

Reports To: House Manager / Residential Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Great Falls

 

Position Summary

The Med Tech / Caregiver is responsible for providing direct care and support to residents in a group home setting, with a primary focus on medication administration, health monitoring, and assistance with activities of daily living. This role ensures the safety, well-being, and dignity of residents while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and organizational protocols.

Document medication administration and report any medication errors or adverse reactions promptly.

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.

Monitor residents’ health status and report changes or concerns to the House Manager or appropriate medical personnel.

Support residents in meal preparation, feeding, and dietary needs as required.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, resident observations, and incidents.

Assist with housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to residents.

Participate in resident care planning and team meetings as needed.

Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all safety protocols.

Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Attend required training sessions and maintain certifications as required by state and organizational standards.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Experience:

Previous experience as a caregiver, med tech, or in a similar role preferred.

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a group home setting is a plus.

 

Certifications and Licenses

 

Medication administration certification (as required by state regulations; may be obtained after hire).

CPR and First Aid certification (must be obtained within six months of hire).

Valid driver’s license (if transporting residents).

 

Physical and Other Job Requirements

 

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers or mobility as needed.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.

Ability to pass required criminal background checks and exclusion screenings.

Reliable transportation.
