Position: Mechanical Engineering Technologist
Shift: Regular Full Time, 40 hours per week
Department: Engineering Services
Location: Richmond, BC, Canada
Reports to: Manager, Engineering Services
Purpose:
WhiteWater West is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist (CAD-focused) to join our Engineering team at our Richmond head office! In this position, you will work under the guidance of members of the Development Engineering team as an integral member responsible for supporting the design and manufacturing of new and existing products and components. Daily duties may include, but not be limited to, documentation creation, CAD modeling, drafting, and documentation management, as well as supporting Continuous Improvement efforts
Essential Responsibilities:
Create and/or modify engineering drawings and CAD models of composite parts and product assemblies in SolidWorks in accordance with the engineering standards and current protocols
Work with staff to transition existing designs from legacy systems into the PLM database for composite parts and product assemblies
Work within existing protocols for creation and file storage of all parts, assemblies, and drawings
Contribute to the development of departmental procedures for improving productivity and efficiency
Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma in Engineering Technology with a minimum of 2 years of practical experience
Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD and PDM systems, including SolidWorks and EPDM for both 3D modeling and 2D drawings
CSWA or CSWP certification (asset), including experience with surfacing and feature tree manipulation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to generate technical documentation
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
