We are currently hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Onshore) for a leading Oil & Gas project.

Reports To: Supervisor, Onshore Reliability Section
Experience: Minimum 10 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

1. Job Purpose
Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of onshore mechanical systems by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, overseeing inspections, and leading reliability improvement initiatives.
Key objectives include:
• Develop asset management programs.
• Conduct failure analysis such as RCA, RCM, and FMECA.
• Integrate maintenance planning with CMMS systems.
• Improve equipment availability and operational efficiency.
2. Main Responsibilities
Policies, Processes & Procedures
• Apply approved section policies, processes, and procedures to execute mechanical reliability programs.
• Assist in developing policies related to:
• Mechanical asset management
• Maintenance planning
• Reliability optimization
• Ensure compliance with international standards for rotating and static equipment.
• Support integration of reliability data into CMMS for:
• Maintenance history
• Failure trends
• Performance metrics.
Day-to-Day Operations
• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance activities for onshore mechanical equipment.
• Conduct condition monitoring for equipment such as:
• Pumps
• Compressors
• Turbines
• Heat exchangers
• Use techniques such as:
• Vibration analysis
• Thermography
• Lubrication oil diagnostics
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance supervisors, and workshop teams.
Technical Specifications
• Develop and review technical specifications for maintenance programs.
• Prepare scope of work and technical evaluations for reliability improvement projects.
• Implement FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis).
• Analyze failure trends and recommend engineering corrective actions.
• Improve MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) by ensuring availability of critical spare parts and repair procedures.
Vendor Repairs
• Inspect and supervise complex troubleshooting and repairs carried out by vendors.
Training & Development
• Recommend on-the-job training for technicians through the training department.
Small Projects
• Prepare and review:
• Scope of work
• Specifications
• Drawings
• Technical documents for tender projects
• Review documents submitted by other engineering departments.
Quotations, Bids & Proposals
• Establish specifications for new materials and spare parts.
• Evaluate vendor bids and proposals.
Contractor Supervision
• Monitor and inspect contractors’ work during execution.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms.
• Report discrepancies to the supervisor.
Continuous Improvement
• Develop procedures to improve safe and efficient operations.
• Recommend new technologies and their application.
Coordination
• Coordinate with other departments to verify engineering outputs and construction work.
• Inspect job sites to ensure safe working conditions and good housekeeping.
Reporting
• Prepare accurate departmental reports.
• Analyze and submit reports on maintenance progress and reliability performance.
Safety, Health & Environment (HSE)
• Comply with all safety, health, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
Other Duties
• Perform other related assignments as directed.
