Quantum Space is redefining mobility and autonomy beyond Earth orbit. Our Ranger spacecraft deliver high delta-V and sustained on-orbit maneuverability, enabling missions across cislunar and geostationary space that were previously out of reach. We are building the vehicles, infrastructure, and operational expertise that connect and protect assets across the Earth–Moon system.

Who We’re Looking For

Quantum Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to contribute to the development of flight hardware across our Spacecraft Programs. This role is intended for an engineer who can independently execute well-scoped components or subassemblies and support hardware through build, integration, and test.

You will begin taking ownership of design deliverables while collaborating closely with AIT, manufacturing, and senior engineers.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

Own design of components and subassemblies from requirements through release

Develop CAD and drawings in Creo; apply GD&T with increasing independence

Drive interface definition: mounting features, tolerances, datums, and packaging constraints

Perform basic structural and thermal analysis (hand calcs and FEA support)

Support hardware integration: troubleshoot issues, propose fixes, and implement design updates

Contribute to verification planning and execution: fit checks, functional validation, and test support

Participate in design reviews (PDR/CDR) with clear technical communication

Coordinate with suppliers: review drawings, clarify requirements, and support part acceptance

What It Takes

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field

2–5 years of relevant experience with hardware development

Proficiency in Creo (or similar CAD) and experience releasing drawings

Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)

Experience supporting hardware through build/test cycles

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability

Work location within the DMV area

Nice-to-Have Experience

Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Nastran, etc.)

Exposure to spacecraft or aerospace systems

Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill or similar)

Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams
