Your Mission::
• Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and housings for spacecraft subsystems and internal equipment (e.g. electronic boxes, brackets, mounts).
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and production-ready drawings using CAD software (mainly Siemens NX).
• Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and repeatable production.
• Define and apply GD&T in accordance with applicable standards to ensure proper fit, function, and interchangeability.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and design review material.
• Support hardware manufacturing, assembly, and integration activities, including troubleshooting and design iterations.
• Collaborate with electrical, systems, thermal, and AIT engineers to ensure mechanical designs meet subsystem and system-level requirements.
• Interface with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible, clear, and compliant with requirements.
• Consider space-relevant constraints such as launch loads, thermal environments, cleanliness, and mass optimization in your designs.
Your Background::
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus) or an equivalent qualification.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace, space, or high-reliability industries.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drawing creation; Siemens NX experience is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and its practical application in manufacturing and inspection
• Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, turning, sheet metal, and basic assembly techniques.
• Strong focus on design for manufacturing, assembly, and integration.
• Interest or initial experience in space hardware design (e.g. electronic enclosures, flight hardware constraints) is an advantage.
• Comfortable producing clear technical documentation and communicating in English, both written and spoken.
• A proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
