JOB TITLE: Mechanical Drafter
REPORTS TO: Design Manager
STATUS: Full time, non-exempt
SALARY RANGE: $32.00 - $42.00/hour
LOCATION: onsite, Bellingham, WA

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Drafter is responsible for the creation of process, P&IDs, as-built, mechanical, construction, and isometric 3D design drawing packages. They will work as part of the capex team to drive the design-build process of industrial production facilities. They will be involved in both the interpretation and creation of specification documents to support the design packages. Tidal Vision is looking for an individual who is looking to build upon their past experiences, but more importantly grow with us. The ideal candidate will be well versed in safety procedures, mechanical systems including pumps, motors, valves, etc. and be extremely organized and able to communicate effectively.
Essential Job Functions:
Create new P&IDs, update and revise existing drawings, verify design accuracy, and produce as-built P&IDs for plant facilities.
Design and upkeep facility layout drawings to show location of equipment, means of access and egress, pipe routing overlays, locations of utilities, etc.
Prepare piping isometric drawings for plant and related piping systems.
Create 3D plant models to aid in the creation of piping isometric drawings and bill of materials for fabrication/install teams.
Interpret field markups, redlines, and engineering input to accurately update drawings.
Implement a drawing/document management system and create submittal and check-in/check-out procedures.
Manage drawing/document management system, update drawing revisions, and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with 2D and 3D drafting software, such as AutoCAD, PTC Creo, or equivalent, including interpretation of technical drawings.
Experience in mechanical processes, piping, equipment fabrication, heavy industry, building drafting, or related.
2+ years of hands-on 3D drafting experience, including interpretation of technical drawings.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and accurately.
Computer competency. Must be able to navigate Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and any other related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or professional Certificate in 3D drafting.
Experience in designing mechanical, plumbing, refining, structural, or building systems.
Technical education.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Work is performed within Tidal Vision’s warehouse. This position will be expected and required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas and while on-site. Hiring is conditional upon background check.
