About The Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer -Seasoning & Spraying, to join our Mechancial team. The role supports this specialist team by applying innovative technical solutions to research and design food packaging and processing machinery, ensuring high customer satisfaction in line with TNA’s design principles.
Key responsibilities:
Design and develop machinery to meet performance, operational and cost specifications. Development includes assembly, commissioning, testing and ongoing refinement.
Liaise with and establish excellent relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and internal departments
Continually identify, implement, monitor and update processes and practices to ensure a high standard of consistency with design philosophies
Generate designs and drawings that are of optimum quality. Consider all upstream and downstream effects on the business, internal customers and end users
Manage design projects ensuring all milestones are met, as per the schedule
Work closely with all departments, ensuring you are a key team member in transitioning new designs through documentation, prototyping, timely production and testing
Make decisions within TNA’s philosophies and guidelines, and communicate them clearly and in a timely manner
Update personal technical and industry knowledge, as necessary
Travel to both customer and TNA sites to support and develop equipment and solutions
Involvement in trials and supporting the Solutions Specialists either in the office or on site.
Qualification and Experience:
Degree qualified Mechanical Engineering (or similar engineering discipline)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role with some autonomy in special purpose design or manufacturing related field – seasoning and spraying preferable
Experience with 2D CAD and 3D modelling systems
Previous experience of pumps and fluid transfer, tumble drums, loss-in-weight feeders and electrostatic system would be advantageous.
Knowledge of spray technology, nozzle types/selection (fan, hollow cone, full cone), droplet size/atomization, flow rate and duty cycle would be advantageous.
