• Provide technical guidance on measurement tool selection, calibration, and categorization based on design requirements, Test Uncertainty Ratio (TUR), and intended application.
• Evaluate out-of-tolerance, nonconforming conditions and calibration recalls, analyze measurement data, assess quality impacts, and support root-cause and corrective action investigations.
• Develop, validate, and continuously improve calibration procedures, specifications, and documentation, including calibration service providers, to ensure consistency, compliance, and process effectiveness.
• Test, calibrate, and certify instruments and tools used for electrical and physical measurements, ensuring nonconforming, damaged, or overdue equipment is removed from service, evaluated for impact, and dispositioned.
• Ensure compliance with project, quality, safety, and programmatic requirements through coordination with Quality Engineering and technical staff.
• Design and evaluate calibration systems, workflows, hardware, and software to support test, production, and program needs.
• Apply analytical and uncertainty methods and prepare clear technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Additional job responsibilities, at the SES.3 level
• Provide technical leadership and direction in the development of M&TE processes, applying advanced level engineering knowledge, significant technical experience, and innovation to create solutions and resolve complex problems, while ensuring safety and compliance with DOE orders and specifications
