Locations: Juneau or Haines, AK

Pay: $30–$55/hour DOE + Overtime

At proHNS LLC, we’re seeking a Materials Testing Technician who enjoys working outdoors, traveling to unique locations, and supporting construction projects that strengthen Alaska’s infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, works well independently, and is comfortable in remote environments.
You’ll support projects by sampling and testing construction materials, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and the Alaska Construction Manual. From airports to marine facilities, your work directly contributes to safe, high-quality construction across the state.
What You’ll Do
Sample and test soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials
Perform field and laboratory testing and calculations
Accurately document and report test results in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with contract documents and the Alaska Construction Manual
Work independently on active construction sites, including remote locations
Travel to project sites by boat, aircraft, or off-road vehicle as required
What You Bring
Minimum of two seasons’ experience in construction inspection, materials testing, or related work
Formal education in construction management, construction technology, or engineering may be considered in lieu of experience
Valid driver’s license
Ability to provide three professional or personal references
Comfort working independently for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
Experience on airport, highway, bridge, and/or marine construction projects
Experience working for or with state and federal agencies
WAQTC or equivalent materials sampling and testing certification
Nuclear Density Gauge certification and experience
ACI (American Concrete Institute) certification
Strong written and verbal communication skills
