Lucid Motors is seeking a motivated and experienced Material Planner for our manufacturing organization. This role will oversee the daily aspects of supply planning, forecasting, and driving strategic projects for this critical role. Candidates should be highly analytical, detail-oriented and can build strong relationships to set the foundational processes to ensure the highest customer experience.
You Will:
• Develop and communicate supply requirements to Lucid’s supply base (over 200 Tier 1 suppliers and 6,000+ parts) via MRP to achieve production, inventory, and cost goals.
• Establish and maintain strong operational partnerships with suppliers, serving as the primary contact for delivery status and issue resolution.
• Ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) performance through close collaboration with the supplier base.
• Work cross-functionally with teams such as Purchasing, NPI, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Logistics.
• Proactively communicate material-related issues and shipment status across all levels of the organization, mitigating potential impacts to customers.
• Provide clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports, and analyses to support production and business planning.
• Support organizational decision-making with what-if and scenario planning using data-driven approaches.
• Optimize inventory and service levels through analytical management of system parameters to minimize costs and obsolescence.
• Lead and participate in improvement projects to enhance OTIF rates, reduce lead times, and support new product rollouts.
• Monitor and track metrics for assigned activities, lead meetings on shortages and supplier constraints, and handle other assignments as needed.
You Bring:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years of Material Planning or Supply Chain experience
• 2 years of Account Management or Supplier Management experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Working analytical and problem-solving skills, able to evaluate data and provide clear recommendations
• Demonstrated supplier operational and relationship management abilities
• Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; flexible schedule required
• Experience with New Product Introduction, Product Lifecycle Management, BOM, and Supply Chain operations
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• CPIM or APIC training
• automotive or volume manufacturing environment preferred
• Knowledge of MRP processes; SAP experience, with a solid understand of discrete manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to pay processes and supply chain operations
• Mandarin or Spanish Speaking
