Position Overview
Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, this role is critical to ensuring the timely, accurate, and professional handling of all inbound and outbound shipments. You will serve as a key point of coordination between customers, carriers, and internal teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

Customer Communication & Scheduling

Answer incoming calls to the shipping office with professionalism and urgency

Coordinate directly with customers to schedule deliveries and confirm shipment details

Provide tracking information and delivery updates

Shipping Documentation & Compliance

Prepare Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, and customs invoices as needed

Review engineering documents (drawings, BOMs, specifications) to ensure accurate shipping

Maintain and file all shipping documentation and records

Photograph and document all outgoing shipments

Manage and resolve freight claims in a timely manner

Freight Coordination

Schedule and manage shipments via flatbed, LTL, and other carriers

Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and receivers to ensure smooth operations

Understand requirements for shipping industrial equipment

Operational Excellence

Support and update shipping-related MDI boards

Collaborate with production, quality, and sales teams to meet delivery expectations

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in shipping processes

Systems & Tools

Utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Excel to track shipments, inventory, and freight costs

Ensure compliance with internal procedures and quality standards

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of experience in shipping/logistics within a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of freight coordination (flatbed and LTL)

Ability to read and understand engineering documentation

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Preferred Experience

Background in custom manufacturing or HVAC industry

Experience with Global Shop Solutions or similar ERP systems

Basic Excel skills (data entry, sorting, formatting, simple tables)

Willingness to learn and grow within the role
