This role will ensure that engineering deliverables, material receipts, fabricators and our operations teams are synchronised to meet our delivery requirements.
•Integrated Scheduling: Develop a feasible, project-based MPS to meet customer delivery requirements whilst negotiating the challenges of Engineer to Order manufacturing i.e. engineering approvals, material availability and fabricator resources
•Process Ownership: Manage the MPS process for Support Systems, drive weekly/bi-weekly meetings to increase schedule adherence, resolve issues with the plan, measure the performance and drive improvements
•Material Requirements Planning: Execute MRP to ensure long-lead components and raw materials are ordered in alignment with timely engineering releases to avoid project delays.
•Capacity Management: Conduct rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP) to identify potential bottlenecks across labour, equipment, and specialty workstations.
•Engineering Liaison: Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management to manage the impact of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on current material orders and production timelines.
•Procurement Coordination: Maintain strong relationships with our procurement team and suppliers to manage lead-time variability and expedite critical parts for PO’s which are misaligned to required dates.
•Data Integrity: Support the operations team to maintain accurate master data within SAP, including production BOMs, routings, and work centres.
•This role translates customer contract dates into production plans and material requirements, aligning supplier deliveries with execution needs while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.
•Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in material availability and cost control.
•Implement and standardize purchasing planning processes to support production schedules.
•Support Operations and Procurement to minimize excess inventory and reduce expediting costs.
•On-Time Delivery (OTD): Percentage of projects completed by the customer's commit date.
•Schedule Adherence: How closely the actual production execution follows the planned MPS.
•Inventory Accuracy: Ensuring physical stock matches system records for project-specific parts.
•Lead-Time Accuracy: Measuring the gap between quoted vs. actual fabrication / project lead times.
•Stock Value and turns
•Excess & Obsolescence
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or Operations.
•Experience: 5+ years experience directly within a planning or scheduling within an ETO or project-based manufacturing setting preferred. Relevant experience in a tangible function such as procurement or operations will also be considered.
•Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in ERP, specifically planning and materials management modules (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
•Certifications: APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CSCP is highly preferred.
•Outsourced Manufacturing: Experience working with fabricators and in a subcontracted fabricator business model
•Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving to handle shifting priorities and excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration in a matrix organisation
•Strong understanding of supply chain planning principles and KPI frameworks.
