Our 3D Manufacture team helps bring ambitious creative projects to life across film, television, and immersive experiences. We’re looking for a Master Digital Prosthetics Technician to provide senior creative and technical leadership, and to help shape the future capability of our team.
This is a senior role with broad influence across projects, people, and process — ideal for someone who enjoys guiding others, solving complex challenges, and maintaining consistently high standards of craft. You’ll be joining a collaborative studio environment where practical problem-solving, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement are valued.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
Creative & Technical Leadership
• Take ownership of complex prosthetics and digital mold making projects from concept to delivery.
• Set and uphold high standards of artistic quality and technical execution
• Provide expert creative judgement and practical problem-solving across projects
Supporting the Head of 3D
• Act as a senior advisor on creative, technical, and resourcing matters
• Provide insight into team capability, workflow health, and project feasibility
• Step in to lead teams or decision-making when required
Mentoring & Capability Building
• Mentor and support artists and craftspeople at all levels
• Share knowledge and promote best practice across the team
• Help identify skills gaps and contribute to training initiatives
Process & Innovation
• Contribute to improving workflows, tools, and manufacturing processes
• Support research and development and the adoption of new techniques and materials

We're looking for someone who can bring the following to the role:
• 10+ years of 3D modelling experience, including digital manufacture and mold-making methods
• Demonstrated experience producing creative work within a prosthetics and make up FX manufacturing environment
• Experience mentoring or training artists and craftspeople
• Advanced ZBrush or Rhino skills with strong troubleshooting ability
• Confident use of Photoshop and Illustrator in production workflows
• Strong artistic judgement in both 2D and 3D
• Ability to plan and lead manufacturing for projects of varying scale
• Experience quoting labour and timeframes

• This role is permanent, full-time role, based in Miramar, Wellington.
• It is full-time, 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• The remuneration for this role is dependent on experience, with the range from $50-60 per hour
