Position Overview:
As a Superintendent for new construction of apartments and luxury homes, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful completion of high-end residential projects from groundbreaking to final inspection. Working closely with the General Superintendent, you will oversee day-to-day operations with self-performing crews, and maintain quality and safety standards throughout the construction process. Your expertise in construction management, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship will contribute to the creation of exceptional projects.
This position oversees the masonry division crew:
The masonry bricklayers are responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of structures made from bricks, blocks, and stones. This includes laying bricks and other materials to build walls, partitions, and other structural elements according to specifications and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Management:
Assist in the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish.
Schedule and supervise subcontractors and self-performing crews, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Monitor daily construction activities and progress, identifying and resolving any issues that may may arise.
Oversee and management of personnel:
Direct and oversee all field personnel activities, including crew scheduling, timekeeping approval, performance monitoring, and coordination of daily work assignments to ensure efficient project execution and workforce accountability.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets project specifications and luxury
Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and rework, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship throughout the build.
Safety and Compliance:
Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing site safety protocols and regulations
Ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and regulations throughout the construction
Required Skills/Abilities:
5+ years minimum construction/project management experience, with increasing responsibility
Field Experience
Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting construction
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle physical labor and strenuous
Able to stand and walk the project site for an extended period of
Regularly talk and/or
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or
Occasionally required to but not limited to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud
Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move at least 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
Must be able to respond quickly to
Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined
Must be able to see and respond to dangerous
Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40
Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the
Must be able to work in hot and cold environments and on concrete
