Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital- the Marketing Manager, Digital Growth is responsible for developing and executing CRM and lifecycle marketing strategies to drive fan acquisition, database growth, and digital revenue performance for Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
This role leads the strategy and execution of data-driven growth initiatives across email, SMS, and CRM channels, with accountability for performance outcomes tied to ticket revenue, fan engagement, and long-term supporter development.
Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the marketing CRM growth roadmap including audience segmentation frameworks, lifecycle journeys, and email/SMS strategy in collaboration with Sales, Brand, and Business Intelligence teams
Build advanced audience segmentation and lifecycle journeys designed to maximize ticket revenue, repeat purchase behaviour, and long-term fan value
Track, analyze, and report on key growth metrics (CAC, LTV, attribution, conversion rates, revenue per send) and present insights to senior leadership monthly/quarterly
Partner with the Club's paid media agency to define quarterly acquisition strategy, review performance monthly, and provide strategic direction on optimization
Establish quarterly database growth and engagement targets aligned with revenue objectives
Ensure compliance and list health across all channels (CASL, CAN-SPAM, consent management, deliverability standards)
Collaborate with Brand, Sales, Partnerships, and Project Management to align marketing initiatives with revenue goals
Partner with Business Intelligence/CRM teams to refine targeting, data governance, and attribution modeling
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on CRM, email/SMS marketing, and performance marketing
Proven track record building and executing email and SMS marketing strategies with measurable revenue impact
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or comparable CRM platforms
Demonstrated experience building lifecycle fan journeys and developing advanced segmentation strategies to drive ticket revenue, engagement, retention, and database expansion
Strong understanding of email performance metrics including open rate, click-through rate, conversion rate, unsubscribe rate, deliverability, and revenue per send — with the ability to translate data into optimization strategies
Working knowledge of CASL, CAN-SPAM, and email/SMS compliance best practices including consent management and list hygiene
Deep understanding of digital marketing metrics and GA4 (primary analytics platform); experience with attribution modelling is required
Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for email considered an asset
Passion for sports and understanding of soccer/football culture
