Job Description
About LightSource LightSource is building the next-generation operating system for Procurement. Sales has Salesforce. HR has Workday. Procurement is next. We build SaaS software that helps procurement leaders discover vendors, manage negotiations, and buy intelligently.
Our team is small but growing quickly, backed by top-tier investors and already winning enterprise customers. We're tackling a massive market filled with complex, high-impact problems. The team includes people who've helped build companies like Tesla, Waymo, McKinsey, and Google X. We hire exceptional people, move quickly, give direct feedback, expect excellence, and have a lot of fun doing it.
About the Role We're looking for a Marketing Generalist — someone who wants to be in the middle of everything and help build the marketing function from the ground up. This isn't a narrow, stay-in-your-lane role. You'll support demand gen campaigns, produce content, coordinate events, and do the connective tissue work that makes a small marketing team punch above its weight.
The right person is sharp, organized, and genuinely curious about AI and industrial tech. You're not a specialist yet — and that's fine. What matters is that you deliver quality work across a range of formats without much hand-holding, and that you're excited to learn fast in an environment where the scope is wide and the feedback loop is short.
Role & Responsibilities
• Support campaign execution across channels — help build assets, coordinate approvals, and monitor performance
• Own social media presence (LinkedIn primarily), including scheduling, community management, and lightweight content production
• Coordinate logistics for field events, trade shows, and webinars: vendor management, collateral, registration, and follow-up
• Draft, edit, and format content across formats: emails, blog posts, one-pagers, and social copy
• Manage HubSpot list hygiene, campaign setup, and basic reporting so the team has clean data to work from
• Maintain the marketing asset library and keep internal wikis and templates current
• Handle vendor and agency coordination, track invoices and deliverables, and flag issues early
• Take on ad hoc projects across demand gen, PMM, and ops as priorities shift
About You You're not looking for a siloed role with a narrow job description — you want to be involved in everything and grow quickly by doing it. You're organized, dependable, and a clear writer who can adapt across formats. You take pride in doing the work that makes others more effective, and you don't need a lot of hand-holding to deliver. You might be a great fit if you:
• Have 2–4 years of marketing experience, ideally in a B2B environment — startup experience essential
• Are organized and dependable: you manage your own workload, hit deadlines, and communicate proactively when things shift
• Are a clear, concise writer who can adapt tone to format without losing clarity
• Are comfortable in HubSpot or similar CRMs — you've used them to run campaigns or manage contacts, not just look things up
• Are genuinely curious about AI, supply chain, or industrial technology
• Are team-oriented and low-ego: you're happy doing the work that makes others more effective
• Value direct feedback and continuous improvement
Comp & Benefits
• Top-of-market base compensation with meaningful early-employee equity
• Platinum-level healthcare, 100% covered for employees
• Dental and vision, 100% covered
• 401(k) program
• Unlimited vacation and sick days
• Free food (3 meals a day, if desired) in office locations
• Frequent team offsites, events, dinners, and weekend trips
Bonus Points
• Located in (or willing to relocate to) San Francisco, Boulder/Denver, or Seattle
• Experience with tools like Canva, Notion, or Figma for lightweight asset production
• Exposure to ABM or field marketing programs
• Prior experience at an early-stage or Series A startup
• You can code in Rust (kidding... unless?)
