Job Description
Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking a Market Intelligence Analyst to join the Market Intelligence unit in the Operations department. This is an approximately 13-month, fixed-term contract with a targeted start date of May 11, 2026, to cover a parental leave.
This position is ideally suited for someone with advanced Excel and extensive Tableau experience who thrives conducting market analysis, market research and forecasting.
Duties and responsibilities:
Research and Analysis
Data collection and reconciliation
Perform macro- and micro-analytical activities relevant to Canadian egg markets
Produce reports and presentations outlining the research and analysis and results
Provide insight and recommendations to management
Provide ad hoc analysis, with a focus on production and markets, as assigned by the Manager
Communicate closely with stakeholders to collect and verify data
Market Expertise and Forecasting
Perform environmental scanning tasks to assess relevant industry trends in Canada, the US and internationally
Assist in maintaining relationships with industry organizations in both Canada and the US
Interpret information and data sets to assess current market trends
Assist in leading EFC to be a Canadian centre for egg market expertise for the Canadian, US and international markets. This includes production, demand and pricing factors
Produce reports and presentations outlining market expertise
Contribute to market forecasting for egg production, demand, and prices
Contribute to the development and continual improvement of data, environmental scanning, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and presentations to include the hen housing transition
Execution of Existing Programs
Provide analysis, calculations and ongoing reports relevant to management of production focused programs at EFC.
Assist in executing the administration of EFC programs, as assigned by the Manager
Document standard procedures
Contribute to continual process improvement
Communicate with stakeholders
Development of New Programs
Assist in the development of new programs and projects as directed by the Manager
Assist in executing and administrating newly developed programs
Contribute to the management of crisis or emergency situations, specifically in regards to market intelligence and analysis (for example NEST committee, special quota requirements, Quota Utilisation)
Qualifications and Skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and advanced formulas)
Advanced knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
Ability to prepare estimates and forecasts using statistical software and programming languages (e.g. STATA, Python, or equivalent).
Statistical and mathematical skills including methodologies and techniques (e.g. advanced regression analysis, ARIMA models, Artificial intelligence/Machine learning, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.).
Ability to apply logical and evaluative thinking to problem identification and resolution
Ability to multi-task, take initiative and be results-oriented
Team-oriented and interpersonal skills
Presentation skills
Education and Experience:
An undergraduate degree in economics, business, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is considered an asset
1-5 years of relevant work experience
Working Conditions:
A standard workweek schedule working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Frequent interactions with vendors and stakeholders
Position requires prolonged periods of sitting, use of a computer, and close attention to detail
Position involves access to sensitive information, requiring discretion and confidentiality
