MARKET DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Market Development Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience in Product Management, Inside Sales and Business Development. The ideal candidate will gain valuable insight into new market assessments, vendor management and Customer Experience.
The Internship is 10 - 12 weeks and on site 5 days a week either in our Rosemont, IL or Commerce, CA office.
Key Responsibilities:
Meat Segment:
Support the Vendor Turnover Strategy by identifying, validating, and updating records of current and former customers.
Conduct introductory conversations with turnover customers to position Batory Foods as their new vendor.
Integrate customer data from external and internal projects, cross-reference for new opportunities, build a contact list, and initiate outreach to introduce Batory.
Partner with internal teams (Lead Generation, Credit) to qualify turnover customers and new prospects.
Identify cross-sell opportunities across Batory’s broader ingredient portfolio within the current “MEAT” customer base, in collaboration with the Business Development team.
Work closely with Sales, Customer Experience, and Product Management teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and progress tracking.
NUTRA and/or Vendor Turnover:
Specialized Nutrition contract manufacturing market assessment and with contacts for powders, bars, gummies, ready-to-drinks.
Vendor hand over focused on key ingredients selling into a couple of market applications, with Nutra being key.
Cross-Functional Work:
Leverage customer insights to assist with CRM cleanup and pipeline building in the “MEAT” Item Class.
Maintain and update CRM records to ensure accuracy and pipeline visibility.
Communicate directly with customer prospects or coordinate lead sharing with the Sales team.
Education and Intern Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
