We are hiring a Marine Technician / Marine Mechanic to join our modern, fully equipped service department. Marine experience is preferred but not required. Compensation
Up to $40 per hour total compensation based on experience, certifications, and performance (Stable income with performance-based incentives)
Typical Earnings: $35–$40/hour
Top Performers: $45+/hour possible for highly productive, certified technicians
Schedule
Full-time, year-round position
Monday–Friday schedule
Five 8–10 hour shifts per week during peak season
Typical hours: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair marine engines and boat systems
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and mechanical repairs
• Complete rigging, winterization, seasonal preparation, and spring commissioning
• Install and repair marine electronics, electrical systems, steering systems, bilge pumps, and charging systems
• Test, adjust, and repair outboard, inboard, and sterndrive engines
• Use manufacturer diagnostic software and Lightspeed EVO dealership management system
• Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently
• Work closely with service advisors and team members to meet repair timelines
• Safely move boats, trailers, and equipment using forklifts, tractors, and dealership vehicles
Qualifications
Required:
• Mechanical experience as a technician in marine, automotive, RV, diesel, or powersports industries
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a professional shop environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs
• Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
• Pride in clean, accurate, and professional workmanship
Preferred:
• Marine technician or marine mechanic experience
• Experience working with outboards, inboards, and sterndrives
• Electrical diagnostics and marine electrical system experience
• Manufacturer certifications or willingness to obtain certifications
• Experience with dealership service software such as Lightspeed EVO
Paid training and manufacturer certification programs are available for qualified candidates transitioning into marine service.
