Oak Bay Marine Group is seeking an experienced Marina Maintenance Supervisor at our Ladysmith Marina operation. In this role you will ensure outstanding guest experiences in a safe and secure, best-in-class environment. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about customer service, brings experience in construction and facilities maintenance and truly enjoys the marine environment.
The Marina Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Marina Manager and supports the day-to-day operations of the Marina. In this role, you will model the ‘Yes I Can’ service standards and OBMG Core Values, providing support for the coordination, safety and maintenance of the marina, facility and grounds. Being flexible to assist with moorage and general administration will enhance teamwork and provide learning and development opportunities. ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service by supporting and demonstrating the ‘Yes I Can’ Core Values and always demonstrate a professional attitude.
Perform ongoing care and maintenance of the Marina and surrounding area to ensure it is up to OBMG standards, providing an exceptional guest environment and safe conditions for customers, crew, working in a cost efficient and safe manner at all times.
Coordinate and complete cleaning for the facilities and grounds, including dock maintenance, clearing the parking lot, boat ramp and debris, cleaning washrooms, removing/emptying garbage bins, ensuring safety, sanitation, and cleanliness at all times.
Maintain all facilities and equipment to safety standards, complying with Clean Marine policies, utilizing environmentally sound practices, treating all company property with care and respect and elevate our commitment to sustainability.
Create and maintain all maintenance logs for docks and equipment. Ensure training logs are updated for any training on equipment, tools, vessels, including firefighting safety.
Communicate effectively with all customers, crew, suppliers, and vendors to ensure that their needs are dealt with in a friendly, professional manner, proudly representing OBMG at all times.
Greet customers as they arrive and make them feel welcome, assisting with vessel docking, food and beverage or supply requirements, processing of annual or nightly moorage, hydro or other services as required.
Maintain any storage or parking programs and maximize our revenue opportunities by capturing all information for incoming guests.
Resolve customer concerns or problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
In the absence of Marina Manager, support the Crew to successfully complete tasks and execute operations at the highest level.
Assist Marina Manager in keeping customer accounts accurate with correct data.
Comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations, including the OBMG employee Handbook.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Support other operations as needed with educational opportunities and maintenance support (travel may be required).
Attend any regularly scheduled crew meetings.
Work enthusiastically within a team environment to deliver service from all positions at the Marina.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Technical Skills:
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in construction or facilities maintenance is required and experience in a recreational or marinas environment is preferred
1 – 2 years of supervisory experience
Strong organizational skills required in fast paced, high volume environment
Occupational First Aid and CPR Level 1 or equivalent is an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Drivers Abstract required
Experience:
Exceptional customer service and communication skills are required
Experience in hospitality or related business experience an asset
Knowledge of marine operations and/or boating is an asset
Basic cash handling skills
