Role Purpose
Responsible for the test of a range of electronic products to evaluate their quality and performance to defined specifications. They interpret malfunctions and defects within the scope of the testing carried out at that station. They work effectively with various testing tools and equipment.
Key responsibilities of the role
Test and analysis of products using agreed test specifications and procedures and maintain status of all units under responsibility.
Assist in the timely achievement of production schedules.
Perform duties in compliance with, and actively participate in the review and implementation of, all relevant policies and procedures.
i.e. ISO, ESD, Cleanroom protocols
Become competent in the use of quality and material systems to ensure that all quality data in relation to movement, failure, non-conformance of product and inventory accuracy is timely and accurately recorded/maintained.
Competent in the ability to learn new tasks within a reasonable timeframe. Participate in organised programmes through the Training regime.
Liaise with Engineering with new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote a Lean Culture within the Department and ensure all Lean initiatives are supported as required.
Comply with all Company policies including Housekeeping Environmental, Health & Safety, Time & Attendance, and proper on-the-job conduct.
Provide support and assistance to other Technicians and to other technical areas in the resolution of difficult problems.
Maintain records of test results etc within the work area.
Check and control the calibration of test equipment.
Demonstrate flexibility to support production, including Space, through reasonable redeployment throughout the manufacturing department, including a reasonable level of overtime when required.
Experience & Qualifications
Successful completion of a three-year full time relevant ordinary degree in Electronics/IT or equivalent.
Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
Familiarity with manufacturing standards such as ISO-9000, IPC, etc., an advantage.
Experience working in a cleanroom/controlled environment. Consistent achievement in meeting production schedules on-a-daily basis.
Adherence to the Training Regime to achieve fully trained standard in at least three (3) distinct operations.
Minimum absences (incidents) throughout the period.
A high degree of built-in quality to achieve zero major non-conformances and less than 5 minor non-conformances/observations within a production year.
Effective participation in Lean/Waste elimination within own working environment/operation.
A self-starter who can manage workloads with minimum supervision.
The ability to communicate effectively with others and establish good relationships with co-workers.
The ability to support the team’s goals by willingly taking on new assignments and helping solve problems associated with changes required.
