Manufacturing Process Planner

Position Purpose and Objectives
The Manufacturing Process Planner will be responsible for clearly laying out production processes & documentation development, creating and updating manufacturing process templates and SOPs per Engineering Drawings and Technical Specifications. This includes the development, detailing, review, and control of manufacturing documentation, including in-house and outsourced operating procedures and techniques & methods where applicable, as well as work instructions, BOMs, and Shop Reports where required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Define and create Best Practices for detailed production process documentation for all manufacturing procedures
Work proactively and cooperatively with other team leaders, supervisors and departments to reach overall company goals
Develop Bills of Material and Work Instructions within SYACC
Vault and maintain revision control within SYACC for BOMs and Work Instructions driven by
changes from Engineering, Supply Chain or manufacturing improvements
Evaluate real-time Manufacturing costs, procedures, and recommend changes or modifications to
improve Quality, costing or efficiency
Work with Purchasing where required for outsourcing requests
Assist Manufacturing with production scheduling where required
Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings and Technical Data sheets
Support the Development of Manufacturing procedures and documents for New Product Development for Production Readiness
Participate as a key team member to consistently improve on-time delivery performance, cost and Quality
Undertake other tasks as assigned by Leadership
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Strong Understanding & Work Experience with various manufacturing processes and practices, such as turning, milling, boring, casting, continuous casting operations, material processing, and assembly and more
Development of the manufacturing order sequence and operating details
Previous experience or sound knowledge of ERP systems
Knowledge of Experience in the Practice of Lean Manufacturing
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and time management skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Able to deal with a demanding and changing work environment
Highly organized individual with a strong attention to detail
Ability to work with 2D drawings, 3D models and technical data sheets
Strong written/verbal communication
Minimum Qualifications
Manufacturing Operations process experience, development and resource planning
University or Technical College Diploma or equivalent experience in the field of manufacturing
process planning, methods and practices
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Process Planner experienced in ERP and JIT environments
