A Day in the Life

For the Manufacturing Manager role at Medtronic Yokneam, we are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader with strong people management skills and the ability to drive operational excellence in a complex production environment. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, cost, team development, and continuous improvement, while directly contributing to medical technologies that improve patients’ lives.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Lead manufacturing operations to deliver results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory objectives, by leveraging the disciplined use of Medtronic Performance System
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional support teams to drive resolution of abnormalities (5S, EHS risk, quality), including maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain, to drive operational excellence and achieve business goals
• Maintain a strong Gemba presence to gain firsthand insights into operational challenges and provide timely, effective solutions to support shop floor teams
• Communicate clearly and consistently regarding the team's current state, expectations, and priorities, ensuring alignment across teams and execution of optimized production schedules
• Provide strategic recommendations on staffing and business needs, including manufacturing shift patterns, direct labor recruitment, and prioritization of production activities
• Utilize HR processes to address and manage ethical concerns, absenteeism, and employee performance matters, ensuring alignment with organizational values and policies
• Team Development: Design and implement comprehensive development programs for Supervisors, OpEx and operators to develop high-performing teams. Cultivate best-in-class routines and establish strong leader standard work to ensure sustainable performance improvements
• Medtronic Performance System (MPS) Deployment: Oversee the effective implementation and utilization of Medtronic Performance System (MPS) tools in manufacturing. Ensure alignment with established standards to achieve operational consistency and excellence
• Standards and Coaching: Drive adherence to MPS standards, including tier management, 5S, 5 Whys, A3 problem-solving, and other lean methodologies. Lead by example and provide hands-on coaching to team leaders, reinforcing daily adherence to standards and best practices.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering 
• Leadership & team management: Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, leading and developing teams, fostering a culture of accountability & performance
• Problem solving: Critical Thinking, strong analytical skills to identify issues, drive process standardization & optimization (green belt)
• Strategic and data driven decision making: Ability to analyse complex operational data, assess risk, drive quick consensus & make informed decision that balance quality, efficiency & cost
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work effectively across departments and functions, building strong partnerships to ensure alignment and successful execution of organizational goals
• Effective Communication: Exhibit exceptional communication skills to clearly articulate decisions, strategies, and expectations while influencing stakeholders at all levels
• Lean Methodologies & Operational Excellence: Possess strong knowledge of lean methodologies, Six Sigma, and operational excellence principles. Take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency gains in manufacturing processes. Certifications such as Six Sigma or Green Belt
• Language: Fluent in both Hebrew and English.
