POSITION SUMMARY: As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will support day-to-day manufacturing engineering activities while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to improve processes, maintain documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Support manufacturing engineering projects and daily operations as assigned
• Assist in achieving production and operational performance metrics
• Maintain accurate records and updates in manufacturing logs and systems
• Help design, specify, or improve tooling, equipment, and workstations
• Assist with layout planning for production areas, including inventory and workflow optimization
• Update and maintain standard work instructions and documentation
• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping, setup reduction)
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects and team-based problem solving
• Conduct process observations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and standardization
• Support material review processes, including assisting with non-conforming material disposition
• Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and measurement tools is a plus
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
• May require standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting
• Ability to remain active for extended periods
