Are you a Manufacturing Engineer looking to make a difference in a forward thinking business engaged in company-wide Continuous Improvement and an extensive CAPEX programme? A newly created role and the first Manufacturing Engineer onsite, this is also an opportunity to make a difference and stand out, especially if you are looking for career development/progression. My client is a long-standing, profitable, family-owned heavy manufacturing business based in the Barnsley area. The business understands its people are the key to its success and are building a first class team.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce and expedite factory engineering improvement plans - leading CAPEX projects, layout improvements, introducing automation etc.
• Create and execute scrap/rectification reduction plans.
• Lead engineering OEE improvements.
• Lead lean activities e.g. 5S, SMED, kaizen activities
• Investigate and implement new process standards, releases, and analysis
• Identify and execute tool cost reduction projects and liaise with purchasing dept. on any cost saving and reductions.
• Lead Problem Solving analysis and Standard Problem Definition creation using Problem Solving Techniques
Key skill/experience:
• Extensive manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in industrial or heavy engineering environments.
• Proven experience of CI & Lean Manufacturing principals: Value Stream Mapping, Bottleneck Management, SMED, 6S & internal/external auditing processes
• Proven experience running multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal & influencing skills
