Join Beta's Business Processes team as a Manufacturing Automation Engineer where you'll develop cutting-edge automation and integration solutions that directly accelerate our path to sustainable aviation. Working primarily in Python, you'll transform how we manufacture aircraft and components by building tools that make our operations smarter, faster, and more efficient. You'll embed with different operational teams for focused sprints while simultaneously handling quick-turn requests from across the company. This role demands someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, translating complex manufacturing challenges into elegant software solutions that help us move mass and build the future of flight.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: :
• Design and implement software solutions that dramatically reduce cycle times across manufacturing, supply chain, and quality operations, directly accelerating our ability to move mass
• Build real-time data integrations between systems, creating visibility that enables our teams to make faster, more informed decisions about production priorities
• Embed with operational teams to deeply understand their workflows, then develop software tools that eliminate bottlenecks and manual processes
• Create intuitive interfaces that empower technicians, engineers, and operators to work more efficiently, reducing errors and improving quality across all production areas
• Juggle multiple concurrent projects while responding to urgent automation needs that unblock critical path activities
• Establish automated tracking and reporting systems that ensure every part and process meets our exacting standards while reducing manual overhead
• Balance deep-dive project work with quick-turn automation requests, knowing when to build robust solutions versus rapid prototypes

Minimum Qualifications: :
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Demonstrated experience with complex software stacks
• Proven track record of building system integrations and working with APIs
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, with the ability to design efficient schemas and optimize queries
• Exceptional ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and context-switch effectively without losing momentum
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to distinguish critical needs from nice-to-haves and prioritize accordingly
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-directed problem solver who can deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and modern development workflows (CI/CD, code review)

Above and Beyond Qualifications: :
• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries with understanding of production workflows and constraints
• Track record of successfully supporting multiple teams simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Plex) and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
• Background in industrial engineering, process optimization, or lean manufacturing principles
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of PLM systems and CAD data management in manufacturing environments
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new domains and become productive in unfamiliar technical environments
• Pilot certificate or demonstrated passion for aviation and sustainable transportation

Physical Demands and Work Environment::
• Onsite at BETA facilities in South Burlington, Vermont; ability to travel locally between sites
• The employee may be required to work in both office and manufacturing floor environments
