Robertson is expanding its Banking & Finance Recruitment Practice and seeking experienced Managing / Principal Consultant to build and grow a high-performing 360° desk, role level to be determined commensurate with experience. This role is ideal for a commercially minded recruiter or B2B sales professional with strong relationship‑building skills and a genuine interest in Canada’s banking, capital markets, and financial services sectors.

The Opportunity:
As a Managing / Principal Consultant within our Banking & Finance Practice, you will lead a full 360° recruitment desk and play a critical role in expanding Robertson’s footprint across corporate banking, capital markets, investment management, risk, compliance, treasury, and related financial services functions.
You will:
Build and manage a profitable desk focused on mid-to-senior roles across Banking & Finance
Develop new client relationships and strengthen existing partnerships
Lead full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, negotiation, and placement
Provide clients with market insights, compensation guidance, and talent strategy recommendations
Leverage best-in-class recruitment tools including AI-enabled sourcing, CRM intelligence, and workflow automation
Execute searches across contingent, contract, retained, and executive recruitment models.
This role is suited for individuals who are ambitious, relationship‑driven, and committed to building long-term client credibility in a sophisticated market. The title and salary will be adjusted based on the candidate's skills and experience.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate brings strong commercial instincts, confidence navigating professional financial environments, and a proven record of performance in recruitment or sales.
Preferred qualifications include:
7+ years of recruitment experience, ideally within Banking or Financial Services
OR related industries with demonstrated success meeting and exceeding revenue targets
Robust network of solid relationships
Strong business development capability and comfort managing multiple senior stakeholder relationships
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
A sincere interest in Banking & Finance and an understanding of evolving talent and market trends
Discipline, resilience, and a metrics‑driven approach to growing a desk
Professional presence and a client service mindset
