The Managing Director of Luxembourg Fund Administration will lead Waystone’s Luxembourg administration offering with accountability for commercial growth, client leadership and governance. The Managing Director will be core to the Luxembourg leadership team, acting as a visible market-facing leader for Waystone with clients, prospects, regulators, and industry bodies.
The role combines strong commercial leadership (originating and converting opportunities, shaping propositions, and owning key client relationships) with robust governance and risk management consistent with Luxembourg regulatory expectations.
As a member of the leadership team, the role will contribute to the broader strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring Luxembourg plays a pivotal role in the company’s European and global growth ambitions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic leadership to the Luxembourg Administration Business, ensuring alignment with the Group’s vision, long-term objectives, and commercial priorities.
Own the Luxembourg administration growth agenda: revenue, pipeline, and client retention outcomes.
Promote Waystone’s SPV and Corporate Services capabilities, supporting cross-selling opportunities across Fund and SPV structures, where appropriate.
Collaborate with Group senior management to drive sustainable growth, operational scalability, and financial performance.
Lead commercial initiatives in partnership with Business Development and Group Stakeholders, including identifying and converting new business opportunities and participating in sales pitches.
Take ownership of pricing discipline and commercial sustainability, ensuring proposals align to approved pricing and product governance frameworks, and supporting the preparation of competitive fee proposals within approved pricing and product governance frameworks.
Represent Waystone at key industry events and maintain a strong external network across depositaries, auditors, law firms and other ecosystem partners.
Maintain awareness of market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends, ensuring proactive evolution of business practices.
Act as an authorised manager (“dirigeant agréé”), demonstrating the professional standing, experience, and capacity required under CSSF authorisation standards.
Ensure full compliance with Luxembourg legal and regulatory requirements.
Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks across the business, ensuring appropriate escalation and remediation actions.
Champion the company’s culture and values by fostering collaboration, cross-functional teamwork, and open communication.
Exercise sound business judgement, ensuring decisions are made ethically, responsibly, and in the best interest of the company.
Experience:
15+ years’ experience in the financial services industry with significant experience in Luxembourg Fund and SPV Administration and deep knowledge of the Luxembourg market, regulatory framework, and business environment.
Experience operating in a regulated environment with strong governance expectations; prior authorised manager / conducting officer experience preferred.
Proven track record of commercial leadership.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement strategic plans and lead complex client servicing solutions.
Strong understanding of Luxembourg AML/CFT requirements and regulatory obligations.
Experience in financial oversight, and fiscal management.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
Highly organised, adaptable, analytically strong decision-maker with the ability to set priorities and execute effectively.
Collaborative, service-oriented leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement and alignment with organisational values.
Education:
University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is required.
Excellent English level and writing skills; other languages, Luxembourgish, French, German, would be an asset.
