About the Role

Workday is looking for an experienced professional to join the team as a Manager, Variable Compensation. This role will manage the Variable Compensation team at the Costa Rica site.

You will be a part of a growing Sales Finance team as we support the Sales compensation side of Workday’s business. We’re looking for someone with strong business partnering skills, who is a self-starter, a great communicator and who enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the monthly sales compensation process, from calculating payments to providing reports for management review and approval. You will be responsible for accurately process the payroll cycle and preparing payroll files.
• Manage the case management systems that interacts with our workmates,
providing research and resolution to compensation matters. This also includes managing case SLAs and providing reporting analytics to leadership on a regular basis.
• Perform and provide to leadership research related to revenue and compensation related data validations.
• Engage and manage the Field inquiry adjustment processes, including reviewing requests and implementing an escalation process to manage higher risk
adjustments.
• Support preparing and/or reviewing data inputs that support departmental SOX controls.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders such as the Sales Design team, Business Finance teams, and other cross functional teams as needed.
• Proactively identify and thoroughly investigate discrepancies, anomalies, or other data inconsistencies and return suggested courses of action to resolve.
• Identify and participate in the creation of enhancements to stabilize data
validation processes.

About You

• 7+ years of experience within Variable Compensation related experience.
• 7+ years of managerial / people leadership experience providing global support.
• 5+ years of experience partnering with audit (internal and external) and supporting SOX related controls.
• 5+ years’ experience with ICM tools (Xactly Incent, Varicent, Anaplan, CaptivateIQ or other online incentive compensation platforms).
• 4+ years’ experience using Salesforce.
• Experience with the Order-to-Cash process.
• Demonstrated ability to retrieve and manipulate large and complex data sets from internal systems.

Other Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-related field preferred.

• Experience with the order-to-cash process is a plus.

• Software and/or internet industry experience is a plus.

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (proficient in building models and tools).

• Familiarity and usage of AI chatbots and other AI tools.

• Ability to learn new concepts quickly and a high degree of flexibility to adapt to rapid organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment.

• Ability to manage several processes simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

• Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive compensation-related matters.

• Experience working with service-level agreements (SLAs).

• Excellent collaboration, communication, customer satisfaction, and initiative-driving skills.
