Job Purpose: As Sponsorship Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building and managing a portfolio of sponsorship partners specifically within the Chinese market for the Esports World Cup (EWC) & Esports Nations Cup (ENC). Your efforts will directly support our mission to establish the strongest sponsorship platform in esports, benchmarked against the top global sports properties. You will be responsible for developing China-specific sponsorship strategies and proposals, pitching to prospective Chinese partners, and growing long-term relationships with key decision-makers across the Chinese esports, gaming, technology, consumer, and lifestyle ecosystems. You will also support onboarding and activation of Chinese sponsors, ensuring local market relevance while aligning with EWC & ENC’s global standards and brand positioning.

Duties and Responsibilities

China-Focused Sponsorship Development & Revenue Generation

• Identify, pitch, and secure sponsorship deals with Chinese brands, agencies, platforms, and holding groups.

• Build market-specific sponsorship proposals tailored to Chinese brand objectives, consumer behavior, media platforms, and regulatory considerations.

• Lead negotiations with Chinese partners, ensuring commercial terms align with both local market expectations and EWC’s global commercial framework.

• Maintain a strong pipeline of China-based prospects and actively convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.

China Market Account Management & Campaign Execution

• Act as the primary point of contact for Chinese sponsors, ensuring clear communication, cultural alignment, and trust-based relationships.

• Support onboarding of Chinese partners into the EWC ecosystem, coordinating closely with internal teams to localize activations where required.

• Oversee delivery of sponsorship rights and activations relevant to the Chinese market, including digital, content, platform-specific, and on-site integrations.

• Ensure campaigns respect local platforms (e.g., Chinese social, streaming, and media environments) while maintaining EWC brand consistency.

• Provide structured reporting on performance, ROI, and partner satisfaction to senior stakeholders.

Strategic Growth & Market Expertise

• Serve as an internal subject-matter expert on the Chinese esports and sponsorship landscape, advising on market trends, competitive benchmarks, and brand expectations.

• Monitor developments across Chinese esports, gaming, media, and sponsorship markets, including regulatory, platform, and audience trends.

• Contribute to shaping EWC’s China market entry and growth strategy from a sponsorship and partnerships perspective.

• Conduct data-driven research to identify high-potential Chinese sponsors aligned with EWC’s long-term vision.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.

• 6+ years of experience in sponsorship sales and partnerships with direct responsibility for the Chinese market.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth understanding of the esports industry with professional experience preferred, demonstrating familiarity with industry trends, key players, and competitive dynamics.

• Experience within the traditional sports market is a plus.

• Deep understanding of the Chinese market, including key brands, agencies, platforms, publishers, and rightsholders.

• Proven experience in both sales and account management.

• Strong existing network with both local and international brands.

• Proven track record in building and managing successful sponsorships with major global brands.

• Demonstrated success in securing large sponsorship deals, with a history of forging strong partnerships and achieving significant revenue gains.

• Experience in developing and executing large-scale sponsorship campaigns, including digital and on-site activations.

• Very good written and verbal communication skills in English & Mandarin (Chinese).
