Manager, Software Engineering – C/C++ - Network Security/Firewall

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of developers building key components of our next-generation Firewall and Network Security platform. You will be responsible for technical leadership, people management, and delivery execution, ensuring that your team produces high-quality, high-performance code for enterprise-grade networking systems.

Note: Cyber/Network security domain experience is a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers (mix of senior, mid-level, and junior developers).

• Drive sprint planning, estimations, and execution tracking; ensure timely delivery of high-quality code.

• Balance short-term goals with long-term technical sustainability.

• Build a culture of accountability, technical rigor, and collaboration within the team.

• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews for team members.

• Participate in architecture and design reviews

• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to translate product requirements into robust, maintainable implementations.

• Troubleshoot and guide resolution of production and integration issues when required.

• Partner with the Director of Engineering and other managers to align on delivery priorities and architecture decisions.

• Coordinate with QA, DevOps, and Product Management to ensure seamless integration and release readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years total experience in software development using C OR C++ programming language.

• 2+ years managing or leading teams in a networking or security product environment.

• Strong understanding of network security concepts (TCP/IP, IPsec, VPN, routing, NAT, DPI, etc.).

• Experience building multi-threaded, performance-sensitive systems.

• Familiarity with DPDK, Netfilter or similar packet processing frameworks is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and lead delivery execution.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset.
