Job Description
As a Software Development Manager, you will be a key player in the product development lifecycle building bridges between the customer’s product requirements and the product development team, and ensuring the end product meets user needs. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a talented team of developers to work on new and exciting SaaS products at Alertus Technologies that will help us fulfill our mission—empowering organizations with mass notification solutions to protect lives, secure assets, and maintain business continuity. This team works directly with our SaaS offerings to ensure they are reliable, secure, scalable, and has all the required protocols to ensure smooth operation.

This is a crucial role where strong communication skills, a detailed understanding of Agile software development and Scrum methodologies, and the software development life cycle (SDLC) are critical to success. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable of Alertus Technologies’ products and business vision, possesses critical thinking skills, and is enthusiastic in collaborating with other members of the leadership and product teams to achieve SDLC and roadmap objectives in order to deliver products and services to customers that meet identified needs.

A Day in the Life::
• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse and geographically distributed team of software developers, ensuring their professional growth and productivity
• Provide hands-on technical leadership by actively participating in the design, coding, and debugging of backend systems
• Define and execute the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for our SaaS product, aligning it with business goals and market demands
• Oversee the end-to-end software development process, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features, updates, and enhancements
• Foster collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing among international team members, facilitating a cohesive and efficient work environment
• Ensure that all development processes, architecture, and code are well-documented and accessible to team members
• Evaluate, select, and implement the appropriate backend technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance our SaaS products

Required Skills::
• Working knowledge of backend technologies such as PHP, NodeJS, or similar
• Working knowledge of mobile technologies. Flutter knowledge is a big plus.
• Working knowledge of SaaS solution design, deployment, and operations within AWS
• Excellent leadership and time management skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Outstanding communication skills
• Experience and demonstrated competence with Confluence and Jira
• Experience with office productivity software suites such as G Suite and/or MS Office software

Education and Experience::
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• At least five (5) years of leadership experience leading Agile teams; experience leading or working with an international team is a plus
• Proven experience with cloud architecture and developing SaaS based platforms
