The main responsibility is to provide scientific support to TAPI’s 3rd party customers in the Latin America as well as supporting account managers in all technical and scientific aspects of their role. This position requires extensive scientific, analytical, quality, compliance, compendial, and regulatory knowledge, as well as sales abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a company-wide technical resource and departmental representative.
• Promote new sales opportunities by providing technical and regulatory support as well as scientific leadership to customers.
• Conveying the customer's technical requirements and needs to the sales team as well as the manufacturing sites to assure rapid comprehensive responses and secure the business opportunity. 
• Identifying gaps between the customers' needs and TAPI’s offerings and providing solutions, for example, special physical or chemical requirements, alignment of specifications, vendor certification, etc.
• Coordination of dialogue between customer and TAPI in order to overcome any gaps by direct communication between several interfaces within TAPI: R&D, Production, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Sales, etc.
• Sharing TAPI's expertise and knowledge with customers whenever issues regarding formulation are raised (particle size, chemical and physical stability, dissolution, tabletting issues, etc.).
• Ability to effectively communicate, both, externally with the customer, and internally with the sales and manufacturing teams, to help execute on business opportunities.

Education and experience: 

• Chemistry, pharmacy or biochemistry undergraduate degree, combined with a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical science and 5-8 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Any equivalent combination of higher education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Job qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must understand the pharmaceutical market and specifically the API industry.
• Must read, write and speak Portuguese, Spanish and English fluently.
• Ability to interact with customers.
• Strong knowledge of HPLC, GC, particle size measurement and characterization, organic chemistry, drug product and drug substance manufacturing, and other drug substance-related chemical or physical techniques, including the development and validation of analytical methods.
• Good understanding of USP/EP methodologies, ICH Guidelines, QbD, cGMP, and EMEA/FDA regulations.
• Must have strong project management skills and must have the ability to lead and conclude projects quickly with minimum supervision to meet customers’ expectations.
• Must have strong customer service skills.
• Must show leadership through active participation and interaction with the sales team as well as the customer service group.
• Should be able to exchange, summarize and/or present technical information of relevance to the pharmaceutical industry to the sales team and to clients.
• Should understand the concepts of intellectual property and their legal frameworks across the main markets, including Brazil.

• International and Domestic 25-35%
