Job Description: Quality Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead our QA team, drive Quality and automation strategy, and oversee the release process at Storable.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for building and scaling quality practices across the organization. You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations to ensure our products are delivered with exceptional quality, reliability, and speed. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in quality engineering, automation frameworks, and release management, combined with strong leadership skills to mentor and inspire a high-performing QA team.

Objectives of this Role

• Lead and manage the QA team in building, executing, and improving quality engineering strategies.

• Drive test automation initiatives to increase coverage, efficiency, and reliability across platforms (web, mobile, APIs).

• Own and optimize the release management process, ensuring smooth, predictable, and high-quality product releases.

• Define and enforce quality standards, metrics, and best practices across the engineering lifecycle.

• Partner with product, engineering, and operations to embed quality into every phase of product development.

• Champion continuous improvement initiatives, adopting new tools and practices to scale QA operations.

• Mentor, coach, and develop QA engineers to grow technical and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily QA operations, aligning activities with company goals and customer expectations.

• Design and implement end-to-end test strategies, including manual, automated, performance, and security testing.

• Establish release governance processes, ensuring all releases meet defined quality gates before deployment.

• Manage the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks and suites.

• Monitor quality metrics, testing progress, and defect trends, reporting status and risks to leadership.

• Drive root cause analysis of quality issues, ensuring corrective and preventative measures are implemented.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git).

• Stay ahead of industry trends in test automation, release engineering, and quality management.

• Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and growth opportunities for QA team members.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, security practices, and industry quality frameworks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 12+ years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering, with at least 2 years in a management role.

• Strong track record in leading QA teams , practices, automation and release processes.

• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Katalon, Playwright, TestNG).

• Familiarity with defect tracking and quality management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated testing (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).

• Experience with performance, load, and security testing practices.

• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and modern software development lifecycles.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

• Experience with cloud-based testing in AWS or Azure environments.

• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) and monitoring solutions.

• Familiarity with databases (SQL, Oracle, MongoDB) for test data validation.

• Exposure to DevOps practices and release automation tools.

• Experience working with global team, stakeholders and flexibility to support different timezones.
