Job Description

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.

LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate all that this city and country have to offer, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners and our community.

The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.

Putting on an Olympic and Paralympic Games is a team sport. To build a Games unlike any the world has seen before, we need the best team in place–a team full of diverse perspectives, experiences and expertise. We are guided by the following set of values and behaviors–optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness–and look forward to hearing about how your past experiences align with them.

Manager, Project Management:

In this role, you will serve as a bridge between different functional areas, working directly with Villages, National Olympic & Paralympic Committee Relations and Services and Games Family Services to support and integrate Games planning. You will be responsible for developing and refining project timelines, monitoring budgets, and tracking risks while maintaining clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization. Your expertise in project management methodologies will be instrumental in optimizing processes, improving efficiencies, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Additionally, your leadership will help support junior team members, fostering an environment of collaboration and professional growth. Ultimately, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a global event that celebrates athletic excellence and inclusivity while making a lasting impact on the Olympic and Paralympic movement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead initiatives and manage timelines to ensure successful execution of large-scale projects and workstreams.

• Create reports and dashboards: to support and enhance team planning.

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, risk assessments, and communication strategies.

• Monitor project progress and performance, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies; implement mitigation strategies as needed.

• Serve as a central point of contact to streamline communication and alignment across the three stakeholder teams (Villages, National Olympic & Paralympic Committee Relations and Services and Games Family Services), ensuring consistency and clarity in planning efforts.

• Manage tracking and follow up of key milestones.

• Implement best practices and improve project workflows for efficiency and scalability.

• Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and templates to support timely and accurate updates to leadership and stakeholders, reducing the reporting burden on technical leads.

• Mentor and support junior team members, providing insights and training to enhance project outcomes.

Background & Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in large-scale events, sports, or international organizations.

• Expertise in project planning tools (such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, Trello, or Jira).

• Strong budget management and financial forecasting abilities.

• Excellent stakeholder communication and conflict resolution skills.

• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.

• Knowledge of Olympic and Paralympic event operations is highly desirable.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Project Management, Business Administration, Event Planning, Sports Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to work On-site in an office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA
