About the Job:
The Manager, Organic Growth & Search Strategy is responsible for owning, architecting, and executing the turnaround of Vendasta’s organic growth engine. This role focuses on fixing foundational SEO and technical barriers, reducing technical debt, and modernizing search architecture across both traditional search and AI-driven discovery. Deeply hands-on and execution-focused, this position owns organic performance across SEO, AEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and emerging AI search surfaces, with a clear mandate to reverse organic traffic decline, improve site health, and drive measurable pipeline impact—particularly through increased high-intent organic demo requests. Partnering closely with Content, Web, Product Marketing, and Demand Generation teams, this role builds a durable, future-ready organic ecosystem that fuels Vendasta’s long-term growth.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will:

Diagnose sitewide issues (indexability, crawl budget, internal linking, redirects, CWV, schema) and prioritize fixes based on effort–impact models.

Implement structured data, entity optimization, programmatic SEO, and semantic content strategies to improve rankings and generative answer inclusion.

Build, maintain, and continuously optimize Vendasta’s information architecture, URL taxonomy, and content hierarchy.

Develop and implement a modern, AI-powered organic growth strategy spanning SEO, AEO (Answer Engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini), and GEO (generative AI search visibility).

Own ongoing keyword universe development—traditional keywords + conversational / generative prompts.

Execute on-page SEO, run experiments, conduct A/B tests, and optimize for conversions (demo requests, signups).

Use AI as a core part of the workflow:

AI-assisted audits, opportunity analysis, keyword clustering, and technical issue detection.

AI agents for competitive analysis, content gap discovery, and SERP feature monitoring.

AI to accelerate execution (drafting optimized briefs, rewriting metadata, creating structured data, mapping redirects, etc.)

Develop internal AI workflows for the content and web teams to streamline SEO/AEO excellence at scale.

Build internal dashboards (GA4, GSC, Looker, SEO tools) with automated insights powered by AI.

Address and resolve technical issues flagged by audits (e.g., indexability, redirect chains, CWV, JS rendering issues).

Partner with the Web team to ensure fast, stable, and technically sound site performance across devices.

Oversee site migrations, new templates, and major architecture updates with zero negative SEO impact.

Manage schema implementation (FAQ, Product, How-To, Organization, Breadcrumb, etc.) to improve visibility in both search and AI answers.

Own organic content performance strategy by identifying what content to refresh, prune, merge, or retire—actively addressing content decay, duplication, and low-value pages to improve site health and search visibility.

Partner closely with the Content team to guide high-intent content creation, optimization, and ongoing update cycles, ensuring content is built to rank, convert, and support pipeline goals.

Collaborate with Website, Brand, PMM, and Demand Gen teams to align organic strategy with ICPs, core messaging, conversion paths, and campaign priorities.

Provide clear executional direction through prioritized roadmaps, content briefs, technical requirements, recommendations, and QA support for writers, designers, and developers.

Build organizational capability and consistency by training internal teams on SEO, AEO, GEO, and evolving search behaviors, enabling smarter decisions and faster execution across the business.

Measure organic impact beyond traffic and rankings, tying performance directly to MQLs, SQLs, and demo requests.

Monitor performance and publish insights on a weekly and monthly cadence to guide priorities.

Own organic dashboards, tracking site health, rankings, traffic quality, and conversion impact.

Forecast impact of optimizations on demo volume and pipeline contribution.

Report progress to leadership with clear wins, blockers, and next steps.

What you bring to the table:

5–8+ years in SEO/organic growth, ideally within SaaS or a complex, multi-product environment.

Deep expertise in SEO, AEO, GEO, programmatic SEO, semantic search, and entity optimization.

Advanced technical SEO knowledge: indexation, crawling, internal linking, redirects, sitemaps, CWV, schema.

Strong familiarity with modern search engines + AI answer engines (Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Perplexity).

Proficiency with tools: GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/SEMrush, SE Ranking, Screaming Frog, Looker, and AI assistants.

Proven experience executing large-scale SEO architecture improvements.

Strong ability to diagnose complex site issues and prioritize high-value fixes.

Proficiency building AI-assisted workflows for research, content optimization, reporting, and execution.

Experience with WordPress (or similar CMS), modern web development concepts, and technical collaboration.

Excellent ability to brief writers, guide content optimization, and ensure accuracy + search excellence.

Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action.

Outstanding communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

Curiosity and adaptability to lead in a rapidly shifting AI-search landscape.
