Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager of Surgical Services to lead Operating Room operations at a Level II Trauma Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
This role provides 24-hour operational accountability for surgical services, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care delivery, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency across a high-volume perioperative environment.

• Facility: 267-bed acute care hospital
• Trauma Level: II
• OR Suites: 10 Main ORs + 2 CVORs
• Average Daily Surgical Volume: ~25 cases
• Direct Reports: ~62 FTEs
• Reports To: Director of Surgical Services
Responsibilities
• Provide 24-hour leadership and accountability for Surgical Services.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
• Oversee OR operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource management.
• Maintain adherence to nursing standards of practice and hospital policies.
• Lead interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient throughput and outcomes.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor core measures, patient safety metrics, and service excellence goals.
• Participate in leadership rounding and proactively address patient care concerns.
• Manage equipment, supply utilization, and departmental budgets.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
Required
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 3+ years of recent (within the last year) acute care Operating Room leadership experience
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
Preferred
• Experience in Level II Trauma or high-volume surgical programs
• Strong knowledge of OR workflows, block scheduling, and staffing optimization
• Demonstrated success in quality metrics and performance improvement
